Critter Sitter of Aiken, LLC is a professional in-home, pet-service business—not a hobby or side gig. This business requires dedication, expertise, and a thorough understanding of the responsibilities involved in caring for other people's animals.
I have more than 15 years of animal-care experience and have studied about animals for longer than that. I have taken courses on animals, pet care, animal behavior and pet first aid, and received Pet First Aid and CPR Certification. Obviously, I have a passion and genuine affection for all animals but that's not all. My business is animals.

Ensuring a Good Fit
Critter Sitter's personalized services are tailored to meet the needs of you and your pets, starting with a complementary Meet-&-Greet in your home. This allows us to meet and for your pet(s) and I to get acquainted before any service begins to ensure we are all a good fit.
During the Meet-&-Greet, you can go over the details of the pet care you need and we can discuss the services that will best meet those needs. In addition, you can instruct me on the details of your pet(s)' care, show me how you want things done, where items I will need are kept, and how to enter and exit your home.
I will provide you with paperwork, including a service contract and relevant forms that include questions about your pet(s)' exercise requirements, habits, medical needs, idiosyncrasies, and diet, as well as veterinary information and your emergency contacts. This level of thoroughness provides for transparency and ensures we are on the same page.

Critter Sitter's animal expertise and adherence to a set of policies and procedures ensures high standards of operation and reliability. As a small owner-operated business, you will always have the same sitter, Ryn Rasmussen, providing consistency for you and your pets. Ryn is bonded as well as certified through a third-party background check from Rover.com.
In addition, Critter Sitter is fully insured, carrying comprehensive general liability insurance that covers your home, your animals, and Ryn, and includes financial protection for any accidents that may occur during all services for which Critter Sitter is engaged.
Critter Sitter is a member of Pet Sitters Associates, a national pet-care business association providing ongoing education, best practices information, industry trends, updates on pet legislation, and a discussion forum for members.

Critter Sitter is your backup while you are away and pet-care is a partnership between owners, their animal family, and Critter Sitter. In order for us to fill those big shoes, it is important that you provide us with what we need to provide the quality care you expect.
We understand that choosing a pet-care provider for your animals requires careful consideration. You have care requirements for your animals and expectations for the person who comes into your home to care for them. All animals have basic needs, and some have unique needs. It is important to have a pet-care provider who is conscientious, reliable, and trustworthy, and who can provide the appropriate level of care for all your animals.

Whether you're seeking a pet sitter for an upcoming vacation or you're just curious about our services, we would love the opportunity to discuss what you need and answer your questions.
We don't cut corners when it comes to caring for your pet family and home. The paperwork you complete for us provides information that is essential to providing the care you expect. New client paperwork is available on the client page or can be provided at your Meet-&-Greet.
Creating a new client profile gives you access to the client portal where you can fill out or download paperwork necessary for starting service, and request and pay for future services.
For new clients, service dates are penciled in when you contact us and set up a Meet-&-Greet. Bookings are confirmed when paperwork is complete and you pay for the first service. For existing clients, services can be booked on the phone or on the client page.
To ensure we are all a good fit, we offer a free initial consultation in your home to meet and get acquainted with you and your pet(s), go over paperwork, and book the service that you need.
We want you to have peace of mind knowing that your pet family is happy and healthy when you are away. During your service, we will send you pet updates, often with a photo, and respond to any questions or concerns you may have.
Service Area
Critter Sitter of Aiken provides services in a 40 mile radius that includes Aiken, Augusta, and the CSRA. A travel surcharge may apply when travel is over 21 miles or more one way.
